  This image shows an overview of the adrenal gland and its vasculature by illustrating its location in relationship to the kidney, composition (medulla and cortex), and microstructure. The image was created for a lab for presentation and website use.

  Mandible with Device for Bone Re-growth

  This image illustrates the client’s new device, which assists in bone regeneration. In addition to showing the basic components of the device, this image demonstrates the placement of the device on the mandible. The darker section of bone, outlined with a dotted line, represents new bone. Upon healing, this new bone will develop to the same density as the original bone tissue.

  One in a series of short animations aimed for patient education. This animation aims to show the basic concept of normal lung anatomy compared to asthmatic lung anatomy and the helpful effects of a controller medication.

  Roux-en-Y (proximal)

  This is one in a series of images illustrating various bariatric surgeries for patients. This simple line illustration shows the Roux-en-Y procedure. During the procedure, the stomach is divided into 2 sections (a small pouch for food and a bypassed portion). The small intestine is divided below the duodenum. The lower portion (“Roux” limb) is repositioned upward and attached to the small stomach pouch. The upper portion is attached to the side of the “Roux” limb at the “Y” connection. This allows digestive juices to mix with food.
